The number of single-family detached homes being sold is slightly increasing year-over-year.

According to the Fort McMurray REALTORS October report, 44 properties were sold last month compared to the 43 in 2018.

The average prices is seeing a sizable decrease, averaging $519,573. This is down from the $569,905 the 43 properties sold last year had averaged.

The Realtors note the biggest drop in price was for townhouses.

“Prices are still on the decline with townhouse units seeing the biggest drop this month at over 20 per cent when compared to the same time last year,” the report read.

Meanwhile, there are currently 342 properties currently on the market, an increase from the 302 listed in 2018.
