Over $200,000 was raised through this year’s Keyano College Gala.

The gala, held back on November 2 at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre, saw around a thousand guests raise funds for post-secondary education in the region.

Donations trumped last year’s total by around $55,000.

In a release, President and CEO at Keyano, Dr. Trent Keough says this will help more students reach their goals and have a positive impact in the community.

“I can’t say enough about our remarkable partners, donors, and friends,” Keough said. “We couldn’t do this without their generous support. These funds will directly impact our students’ lives and provide opportunities that otherwise would not exist.”

Dr. Keough also acknowledged the hard work of volunteers and the college’s advancement team – who made the event a success.

All funds will be put toward student awards and bursaries at the college.
