Trans Mountain Hires 2,200 Workers For Pipeline Project

The hiring process for the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project is well underway.

Trans Mountain announced on social media that as of September 30, they’ve hired around 2,200 workers to help build the 980 km pipeline and associated facilities.

The comes after the previous federal government re-approved the project back in June.

The company notes they had a focus on finding Indigenous, local and regional workers.

So far, they’ve hired heavy equipment operators, trades people, environment and safety roles, engineers and construction manages.

Trans Mountain adds they expect around 4,200 workers to be involved with the project by years end.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-2022.
