MOB Defenseman Gaining Attention From NHL Scouts

A Fort McMurray Oil Baron is getting some attention from NHL scouts.

Defenseman Kabore Dunn is among five Alberta Junior Hockey League players who have been identified on the NHL Central Scouting Players to Watch List.

The 17-year-old has two assists this year and is listed as a possible 4th to 6th round pick.

The scouting list is a compilation of top prospects from leagues throughout North America and Europe and is used to evaluate players ahead of the NHL Draft.

The other four players include Sherwood Park Crusaders’ Carter Savoie and Michael Benning, as well as Stanley Cooley and Ethan Edwards with the Spruce Grove Saints.

All are projected to be late round picks except Savoie who’s projected to go in the second or third rounds.

Ninety AJHL players have been drafted into the NHL with former Brooks Bandits and current Colorado Avalanche Cale Makar being the highest selection after being chosen 4th Overall in the 2017 NHL draft.

The 2020 Draft takes place next June in Montreal.
