The Athabasca Oil Corporation is donating $10,000 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation.

The Calgary-based company is giving the funds to the hospital as a way to thank them for helping their employees and providing a high standard of service for Wood Buffalo.

Athabasca has two projects just south of Fort McMurray – Leismer and Hangingstone.

“The health and safety of our employees and the communities in which we live and work are at the very heart of our organization,” said Jeff Czepil, Athabasca’s Superintendent at Hangingstone, in a release.

The funds will be put towards priority health care projects.

“Every day we are helping AHS grow services and provide new equipment and technology to meet the health needs in our region,” added Cindy Amerongen, NLHF Executive Director.

“Athabasca Oil respects this work and are helping us meet our goals.”
