A search warrant by Wood Buffalo RCMP has resulted in a sizable drug bust.

Wood Buffalo RCMP’s drug section executed the search on a residence on Sandpiper Road in Eagle Ridge.

As a result, the Mounties seized 106 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, 154 grams of suspected cannabis and over $3500 in Canadian currency.

Police have arrested 22-year-old Husaam Ahmed Maawia, who faces several charges which include possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and unlawful transport of cannabis in a vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on October 22.
