Arts Council Wood Buffalo is receiving a grant from the provincial government to help celebrate culture days in Wood Buffalo.

The GoA announced on Monday they are featuring five three-day events across the province so people can learn more about Alberta’s diverse heritage and culture.

Throughout the province, 87 community and cultural groups will be hosting free events that showcase arts, heritage, diversity and community spirit.

Multiple events are being planned in Fort McMurray including the municipality’s igNIGHT showcase which plans to lighten up the community after dark.

The Oil Sands Discovery Centre will also be open where people can learn more about the Athabasca Oilsands.

Alberta Culture Days gets underway on Friday and lasts until Sunday.
