The number of single-family detached homes being sold across Wood Buffalo is seeing a slight decrease year-over-year.

The Fort McMurray REALTORS latest report shows 51 properties were sold last month compared to the 54 in 2018.

The average price is also down sitting at $500,397 compared to $574,594 in 2018.

The same amount of homes were also sold in July, however, the average price was much higher around $532,000.

Despite this drop in price, the Realtors note the average cost for apartments and duplexes were around 20 per cent higher than last year.

There’s also an influx of listings with 348 homes up for sale which includes 87 new properties since last month.
