Two Facing Drug, Firearm Charges After Traffic Stop

Wood Buffalo RCMP are arresting a man and a woman after a traffic stop.

Police pulled over a vehicle on August 21 around 4:45 p.m. and found two firearms, two magazines, various ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and $2,340 of Canadian currency.

They would later charge 34-year-old Steven Whitehead with 36 offences including trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, posession of a weapon with deadly purpose and more.

RCMP also arrested 31-year-old Shannon O’Keefe and have charged her with 30 offences.

Whitehead is scheduled to appear in a Fort McMurray courtroom on September 9, while O’Keefe will make an appearance on September 10.
