The Willow Square continuing care facility is on schedule to officially open to the public in the fall of 2020.

Alberta Health Services gave an update on the project at the Golden Year’s Society on Friday noting construction on the inside was around 95 per cent complete.

One room will also be fully furnished next week to get a better idea at what the facility will look like when people needing care move in.

Work started on the centre in April 2018 and was expected to be completed by the fall of this year, however, AHS now believes it should be finished by January.

After construction is done, AHS will be reviewing the facility to ensure everything works properly. This is expected to take around eight months.
