Training camp gets underway this week for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.
It’s been a turbulent summer for the MOB – with two coaching changes – but players are finally rolling into town getting set to get the 2019-2020 season underway.
Head Coach Bob Beatty tells Mix News they’re putting the offseason in the rear-view mirror and looking ahead.
“Certainly, there’s been lots of changes but I’m excited about the challenge. We’ve made a lot of changes with our lineup as well and it will be exciting to see what happens.”
It’s going to be a busy weekend for all the players in attendance.
Training camp kicks off on Thursday and wraps up with the Blue-Gold game on Sunday at the Casman Centre at 2 p.m.
Beatty says they’re excited to see what players bring to the ice.
“It’s an exciting time for everybody. I think the best players will set the pecking order and we’ll play the hand we’re dealt and adjust accordingly.”
