The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce is looking to highlight local businesses through its 2019 Business Awards Program.

The Chamber opened nominated for the program on Tuesday – which features eight different categories.

The categories include Business of the Year with over 20 employees, Business of the Year with under 20 employees, Environment & Sustainability, Female Leadership and Indigenous Business, Startup, Youth Entrepreneur and People’s Choice.

Chamber President Bryce Kumka says they’re excited to once again give local businesses the recognition they deserve for their hard work in the region.

“We have an incredible business community that is dedicated to long-term sustainability, and that is impacting our region in a positive way,” Kumka said.

The deadline to apply is August 30.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Celebration, taking place on Thursday, October 24 at the Keyano Theatre and Arts Centre.
