Inaugural Glo Run Raises $12K for Safe Community Wood Buffalo

A glow in the dark night in the Birchwood trails is helping raise funds for Safe Community Wood Buffalo.

The organization held their inaugural Coverall 5K Glo Run, on Saturday, which was able to raise $12,000.

The event got the attention of hundreds of people who ran in either the Flash Family Run or Radiant Run.

“Aside from the funds raised it was so much fun to plan and be a part of,” said Lesley Pearcey, Community Engagement Coordinator, in a release.

“It was just so great to see all the runners with their bright costumes showing up and having fun.”

The funds will help the organization continue their services in Wood Buffalo.

SCWB is planning to bring the event back in 2020.
