FireSmart Study Underway For Homeowners In Urban Service Area

If you live in the Urban Service Area, you’re being asked to give your two cents on FireSmart activities in the RMWB.

The municipality is collaborating with Canadian Forest Service and FireSmart Canada on a 2019 FireSmart Research Study.

As a result, residents living in the area may receive a call from Advanis Research Group, asking a series of qualifying questions to see if you qualify to complete an online survey.

The results from the survey will help the RMWB and FireSmart Canada with recommendations on how to support homeowners taking FireSmart action at home.

It will also help the municipality find ways to effectively reduce the risk of wildfire damage to homes, neighbourhoods and communities.

To be eligible, you must be a resident of Fort McMurray, living in a single-detached home in the Urban Service Area and you must be 18 years of age or older.

You can also directly access the survey by sending a text message with the word “FIRESMART” to 844-289-1258.

Those who complete the survey have an opportunity to enter a draw to win a $100 Canadian Tire Gift Card.
