Community Climbs Over 1,000 Rebuild Mark

The community’s rebuild is hitting a big milestone.

As of August 9, the municipality has completed 1,158 final inspections – climbing above the 1,000 mark.

This represents nearly 45 per cent of the structures that were destroyed by the Horse River wildfire.

Beacon Hill, Abasand, and Stone Creek have led the way throughout most of the recovery.

Two-thirds of destroyed properties have also had their foundations inspected.

Around 83 per cent have received a building permit from the municipality.
