Lady Huskies Volleyball Program Welcomes New Bench Boss

The Keyano Huskies have a new head coach for their women’s volleyball squad.

Sutcliffe replaces the outgoing Nick Pratt – who coached the Lady Huskies to a 9-15 finish last season – resulting in a playoff-less conclusion

“I am honoured to be part of the Huskies Women’s Volleyball team and continue to grow a positive environment and team culture,” Sutcliffe said in a release. “I am looking forward to moving to Fort McMurray and begin working with these student-athletes as they try and achieve the goals we set in place.”

Sutcliffe played five years of Volleyball at Capilano University in North Vancouver, was a two-time Capilano Blues Female Athlete of the Year, a two-time CCAA All Canadian and a two-time PacWest Championship Tournament All-Star.

She also brings with her professional experience – having played a year in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Director of Sport & Wellness Jonathan Lambert says their excited to have Sutcliffe join their group of experienced and successful coaches.

“She brings a history of success as a student-athlete in the PacWest, CCAA and as a professional,” Lambert said. “I am confident that her experience and drive for success will translate into a successful women’s volleyball program for the Huskies.”

Sutcliffe will be in Fort McMurray on August 15, with training for the 2019/20 season set to begin on August 22 at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre.
